The "Upper Cruck" Roof

As part of the process of drawing together the planning application, for renovation of Manor Farm, a team from Oxford Archaeology have been assessing the house and they have been particularly excited by the "upper cruck-roof" construction, which appears to be a quirky method of roof construction of interest within the local area. They suspect that other old houses in the village might share this method of roof construction, in which case we would have an interesting collection of distinctively built houses within the area. Oxford Archaeology have drawn this sketch section of the roof construction to allow residents to check their roofs and see if their house also shares this method of construction.
