Friends of South Hinksey: Extracts from the Constitution

2. Objectives
2.1. To preserve the distinctive character of the neighbourhood and influence the course of its future development.
2.2 To promote the provision of suitable amenities
2.3 To encourage a community spirit in South Hinksey
2.5. To maintain the Society as a body which is non-political, non-religious, non-racial and non-profit making.

3. Membership
Membership will be open to all parishioners and to those with property rights in South Hinksey. The Society will be financed by subscriptions and/or donations and when considered necessary by a General Meeting.

4. Committee
4.1. The committee will consist of Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer and other members as the Committee will decide.

6. Meetings
6.1. A General Meeting will be held annually to receive an account of the work of the Society and to elect members of the Committee. A quorum of ten will be sufficient to conduct business. 14 days notice to Members will be required for the AGM.
6.3. ...Proposals may be carried by a simple majority, with the Chairman of the Committee having the casting vote if necessary.

7. Winding up
The Society may be dissolved only by a majority vote of those present at a General Meeting...In this event, the Society’s records will be handed over to the Oxford County Records Office and its other assets to the Oxford Preservation Trust
